End of 2011

I was so sad to see 2011 come to an end. I feel like it went by way too fast! Oh well. Can't change it so I will just roll with it!

Paul and I both celebrated our birthdays in November. I turned 29(and will not be getting any older) and he turned 31. (Although he is convinced he only turned 30.) They were uneventful birthdays that consisted of cake and ice cream and love from many family members.

December rolled around and in the first two weeks we had adopted another cat. This one was a stray that Kylee named Princess. The funny thing is that she looks almost like Tigerlily. They are so cute together. She fit right into our home and we wouldn't trade her for anything.

Jake and I made almost 700 suckers this year and tried some new flavors. I hope everyone that received some loved and enjoyed them. My back hurt for three days after we were done.

Christmas came and although I had a hard time getting into the spirit this year, a few things did help. We had a family Christmas party this year that was so much fun! I really hope we continue to do this every year! I have had so much fun spending time with my dad's family this year. It is funny how many new things I have learned about all of them.

On Christmas day Paul woke up sick so we tried to keep our travels to a minimum. We started the morning at home(Kylee made out like a bandit) then proceeded to my dad's house to open gifts and have dinner with them. All in all Christmas was a great day and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with loved ones.

New Years was an uneventful day for us. We spent most of the day sitting around and all of us were asleep by 11:00pm at the latest. At least I made it to see the ball drop in New York. Call us old if you want but I totally enjoy the fact that I get all the sleep I want and don't feel obligated to stay up all night long!!

My sweet Grandma Carling!

The world truly has lost another great gem. My Great Grandma was the sweetest most loving person I have ever known. She couldn't always remember who you were or remember your name but she had so much love to share and I am so grateful she was part of my life for so long. I went to see her with my mom the first of October. I knew that would be the last time I ever got to hug her or tell her I loved her. I am so happy I got to do that. Those are the memories I will hold dear to my heart when I think of her. Rest in Peace Grandma, you deserve it!
